SO YOU'RE PLANNING A FOOD DRIVE

Thank you! Whether you are a seasoned food drive coordinator or a group organizing your first, we appreciate your effort. The WFP&RC depends on food drives coordinated by area churches, schools, businesses and service organizations to improve the quality and selection of food available to area families in need. Below are some helpful tips to make your food drive run efficiently for you and the volunteer staff at our Pantry.

KEEP US INFORMED

It is helpful for us to know in advance when organizations are planning food drives so that we do not have too much food all arriving at once. If you let us know when you're planning on scheduling a drive, we can let you know specific items needed at the Pantry. You may also want informational brochures or statistical information we can provide to help promote and build interest for your event.

LET US KNOW YOUR FOOD DELIVERY SCHEDULE

If you are sponsoring a very large food drive, this allows us to have volunteers scheduled to help sort and store your food donation. For smaller food collections, please follow the instructions at the drop off center at the Pantry for weighing and sorting your food. This only takes a few extra minutes of your time, but is a tremendous help in processing your donations.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT FOOD NEEDS ARE YEAR ROUND

We typically have many, many food drives in the fall, for which we are very grateful. This food allows us to provide for families for several months. However, we still need food in the late spring and throughout the summer. Please consider helping us re-stock by having an additional food drive during these months.
